\u00a0I goggled at Moira. \u201cWhat did you do?\u201d I wasn\u2019t asking about her knife.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in serious trouble, Max,\u201d she whispered as she turned toward me. \u201cYou can\u2019t let them take me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve seen Moira face down a vampire. I watched her spit in every one of a hydra\u2019s faces. I\u2019d never seen her so scared.<\/em><\/p>\n
