With the Stone Skin Press Kickstarter<\/a> in its climactic days, we\u2019ll be highlighting the contributors and stories behind Shotguns v. Cthulhu<\/em>, our anthology of action-packed Lovecraftiana.<\/p>\n

The intersection between Seattle\u2019s cops and its homeless community becomes all too visceral for cash-strapped police officer Rebecca Eames when she hits a homeless guy with her car. She takes the barely intelligible warning he utters as a symptom of the usual mental illness. But if he\u2019s crazy, why is she the one seeing that crazy lobster-damselfly thing emerging from a narrow lane?<\/p>\n

Dave Gross grounds the weirdness of his tale \u201cWalker\u201d against a tellingly drawn backdrop of Seattle street life. The story\u2019s voice shifts to match the uncertainty of the characters\u2019 perceptions and loyalties. And I\u2019d tell you more about that other thing, but that would be telling you more about that other thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember seeing a few strange things when I lived in Seattle,\u201d says Dave. \u201cWhat bothers me more are the things I might not remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave Gross<\/strong> was born in Michigan but grew up in Virginia. After earning a Master\u2019s degree in English, he worked as a technical writer and teacher before moving north to edit magazines for TSR in Wisconsin. Later he moved west to do the same for Wizards of the Coast and Paizo Publishing in Washington, writing fiction on the side. He is the author of the Pathfinder Tales novels Prince of Wolves<\/em> and Master of Devils<\/em>. With Elaine Cunningham he co-authored Winter Witch<\/em>. Dave now lives in Alberta, Canada with the best things in life, his wife and their small menagerie.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
